The Sociedad Argentina de Botánica (SAB) was founded on June 21, 1945, and among its initial
objectives was the publication of a scientific journal. In November of the same year, the Boletín de la SAB was born with the purpose, in the words of Lorenzo R. Parodi, of not being just another journal, but rather a tool for the botanical community to connect with one another, to facilitate research, to express doubts and
difficulties, and, whenever possible, to offer solutions to problems of common interest.
